Going Rogue – a Prophecy fulfilled

As you may or may not know there are many conventions throughout the year themed around a wide variety of current and past TV shows and run by a number of different organisers. I’ve been attending events for a long time but one of the few UK conventions I’ve not done is one run by Rogue Events.

There are a number of reasons for this. For one, they don’t run events based around shows I watch and for another I’ve heard many stories about how badly they are run which has put me off. But then they go and announce an event called Prophecy based around the TV show Buffy The Vampire Slayer and it’s offshoot, Angel. On top of this they announce Alyson Hannigan as one of the guests. This is a question I’ve been asking myself after becoming bored with a few shows I’ve had on my watch list and deciding not to continue with. After tweeting that one show had become very slow and tedious, a friend quite rightly said “stop watching it then”. I’d got so far with it but really started to ask myself why I was still watching. Was it the investment in time I’d already made making me carry on just to see if it improved? (more…)

Gods, Masters and Minions – Hallowhedon 6

Photo 02-11-2014 09 45 41

Hallowhedon is an annual weekend convention run by Massive Events based around the theme of shows created by Joss Whedon. Primarily this covers Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Firefly/Serenity and Dollhouse and unless you’ve missed the heavy clue in the title it happens on or close to Halloween.

Hallowhedon 3 was the first themed weekend convention I attended and even though I didn’t really know anyone else at the time I enjoyed it. (more…)
